Hi All

Postby grivers » 09 May 2019, 23:39

Hi everyone..just a quick hello to you all, from the lovely Peak district in Derbyshire. I am not a professional carpenter, but I am a keen woodwork diy..er. I have just built an extension to my original workshop(well shed really) and have managed to fit in all the power tools I think I will need, including a nice little bench saw, that I aquired from my brother at a bargain price :D . The next liitle project is a crosscut sled for the said bench saw. Any tips would be greatfully received.. thanks all, Gary

Welcome! :D

There is a lot of info on crosscut sleds on the WWW plus plans etc.

Hi Gary and welcome

As as Phil says there, there is a huge amount of stuff on YouYube and forums about crosscut sled’s.

In reality there isn’t a lot to it but you need to make sure that your tablesaw is properly set up before you start so that the blade is at 90 and the slots are bang on parallel to the blade.

I’ll try and find some time later to point you at some good ones for that.
Cheers

Do give you something to think about here is one I made a few years back for my Kity 419

Thick perspex would be a better option than that red board you can see above the blade. I have since cut out a large circular hole so that I can at least see the saw blade and cut line.
I do not think therefore I do not am.
