Hello from Yorrrrkshire

Postby Jimmy Mack » 22 Mar 2016, 19:35

Hello everybody!

I am a Furniture Maker / Designer and have been practising for over 25 years

I thought it was about time I signed up to the Forum. I've been dipping in and out enjoying some of the workshop builds and felt as I've just started mine I would share the build WIP :D

I hope I can offer something to the forum and of course... looking forward to learning from the other members. :geek:

Thanks, Jim

Welcome Jim.

Post a couple of quick replies to get past the anti-spam 3 post threshold, then you can get on and post plenty of photos. We like workshop builds........ :)

Love to see some of your work, too.

And a very warm welcome from me too. Workshop plans and space available look great, not envious at all.

I see that you are between Leeds and York. I can stick a pin on the members map half way between the two if you prefer or it would be better if you could give us a town or village name and if you could enter this into your profile in the User Control Panel so much the better.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

When I used to cycle from Leeds to York, Tadcaster was considered half way - the home of John Smiths Tadcaster Ales!

Just down the road from us Rod, also there's Sam Smith's who brew all their own beers and run their own pubs, their main brewery is in Tad...not many places you can buy 2 pints and a packet of crisps for under 4 quid!

Now you are making me homesick. Decent beer and a proper pub.

Those Smiths were quiet a family.
I see JS are owned by Heineken, how do the beers compare, apart from price?
Tetleys used to be the local Leeds brew, but back in the 60's I never really liked it and preferred Newcastle Brown or Theakstons Old Peculiar.
