Hi from the Wiltshire wilderness

Postby Oldbill » 04 Feb 2017, 16:29

Hello,
My name is Bill from Purton, Wilts.I am a retired handyman/ maintenance man and woodwork is my passion. Wiltshire is a bit of a desert for tools and timber supplies and also clubs and societies. Having looked at some of the posts on this forum I am looking forward to some interesting visits.

Hi Bill and welcome to the forum. What type of woodwork are you into. Once you have got past the 3 posts spam trap please feel free to share some projects with us, old or new.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers
Andy

I work from a large single garage to which I have added an 8 x 6 side extension. I make mostly oak furniture and also enjoy carving and a little turning. I am also a keen gardener so there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Sounds great, Bill. I'm sure I'd seek for everyone if I said we'd like to see your work.

Oldbill?! 'Old' or the other meaning of Old Bill?

I recall seeing road signs to Purton during countless trips up and down the A419 (or is it the 417?) between Swindon and the Cheltenham Donut but I never strayed off the dual carriageway to explore the area.
One on the big advantages since I retired has been a whole load less driving around the south of England on ever busier roads.
It is a nice part of the world with a good few attractive stone buildings and dry stone walling.
