Hi from S/W Scotland

Postby YorkieT » 07 Apr 2017, 07:53

Hi all, just a quick hello.

We retired to S/W Scotland 4 years ago and I finally have my garage / workshop setup, I want to get back in to woodturning, I have a short bed union graduate variturn lathe and also a Hegner single speed scroll saw which I would like to put to some use, looking for some inspiration ;)

We have the village craft / flower show fast approaching and I think I will turn a few pens for the show, this will be my first ever entry in such things so not sure what to expect.

Thanks for having me :D

Hi Yorkie and welcome to the forum. There are a few of us here who enjoy spinning things so I hope you will feel at home.
We have a spam trap that will prevent you from posting images until you have made 3 posts but after that feel free to share with us what you can do. We like workshop pics too.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Hi Yorkie and welcome. Nice to see someone else on here in this beautiful part of the world. We did the same and retired 2 1/2 years ago, we live near Gatehouse. Still haven't got a workshop yet but I've just started putting down the foundations.

Looking forward to seeing your work on here :-)

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

We have just got a scavengers license from the forestry today so it looks like I will be busy for the next few weeks collecting and processing wood ready for next winter rather than turning :eusa-violin:
I will try and get some pics up ASAP though ;)
