Hi Lee and welcome.
There are one or two woodturners here, beginners amongst them. Tell us a little abut your self, what you have turned to date etc so that you post count goes beyond the manual spam trap then you will be able, hopefully, to post some images of your work to date. We love to see photos here.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers
Andy

Welcome to the forum :)

I have a wood lathe and some turning tools but never use them. Thought I would when I got them but never did. Think I'd need to be more artist than engineer to get into turning and you can't learn that.

Hope it works out for you.

Hi Lee and welcome.

I too bought a s/h lathe when I set up the shop thinking it would be an essential but it rarely gets used.
I thought it might be useful for table legs so got one with a metre between centres but todate, I'm on tale number 5 and all square legs so far.

Since visiting one or two woodworking shows where there tends to be a heavy presence of wood turning, I get the distinct feeling there is only shelf space for so many bowls and pens in this world

But everyone to their own, It is still nice to see the work of others on here.

Cheers

Bob

Just getting ised to the tools and the cuts at the minute but really enjoying creating things. I'm not great or have the patience for larger woodworking projects at the minute like any kind of furniture making th y would guaranteed turn out wonky but turning is suiting me

It is only terminology lol

Furniture can be "rustic" or even "rustique" but not wonky

Hi Lee,
Welcome to the forum.

I have a lathe, and I do use it.

I have turned pens, pegs and lots of Christmas stuff as well as bowls, I look forward to seeing what you produce.
Regards,
Dave
