Hello from Central Scotland

Postby MJOriginals » 03 Dec 2018, 07:35

Hi all

Just found this forum looking forward to reading and hopefully contributing something.
I'm mainly retired but do scroll saw work and sell craft hand made work at craft fairs all over if I get chance
Hopefully will revitalise the scroll saw forum which seems to not be to active at the moment by the age of the posts.

Looking forward to a bit of banta
All the best

Yo, Martin, welcome form Mid-devon.

I'm not the furthest away from you on this island, but not far off!

And a warm welcome from me, Martyn. Just 'down the road' so to speak in Northumberland.

Hi Martyn,

Welcome to the forum.

I do have a scroll saw but have not used it very much lately, but I do have something soon that will need cutting on it.
Regards,
Dave

Martyn, welcome :D

Glad to see a scroller posting.

Welcome to the forum, Martyn. Great to have another scroller around - I'm hoping to resurrect my activity on that board too in the near future.

Yes indeed. Very good to hear from you. I'd wondered what had happened to you. IIRC you had moved home but I did not realise that you had been unwell. I hope that is all behind you now and you will have some time to make some more sawdust.

Awwww... thanks guys :) .

Yes, we moved house a few years ago to East Lindsey and I had to give up my workshop. The new place is much smaller but with a view of the Lincolnshire Wolds that I just couldn't resist. When I registered with a new GP here he was a bit concerned about my health and started a batch of tests. I reckon he thought Christmas had come early and he had a new toy to play with. Anyway, my health is on the up at last although I have to be careful about inhaling dust, which is why I've been off woodwork for so long.

The other night we had some friends around for Christmas drinkies and they saw all the wooden compound cut decorations I'd made for the tree. The upshot is I won't get any peace until I get my scroll saw out again! The local photography group leader is also intested in some scrolled photo frames. So long as the sawdust doesn't get me I should have some nice outlets for my work next year.
