Hi Malc and thanks for the welcome. Yeh I have a large separate garage that I can fit all of my stuff in lots of it hobbyist size though. I have two lathes a Sealey which was limiting me so recently upgraded to a record power dml36sh-cam. There is enough room for that two benches length ways against each other and a wood drying curing area about 10 foot by 5. I'll get some pictures up when I have cleared up a bit lolMalc2098 wrote:Welcome, Bryce, from Mid-Devon.
So you already have a workshop!

Mike thanks for your kind words I have been carving for probably about 6 years I also paint but the turning I use as a type of therapy (I had a heart attack a couple of years ago and have had some mental health issues as a result) the carving is for the summer months though when I can sit out the back in the sun and chip away. I appreciate your feedback on the turning and to be OK is great as it means there is loads of room to learn and improve. That said I'll try and get some more carvings done. The stick is up on Etsy at the moment but no takers so far.Mike G wrote:Welcome Sulturner. Good to have you here.
I'm a non-turner. I think you should be too.............
Let me explain. Any time you spend spinning sawdust off round bits of wood is time you aren't carving. You're turning looks OK to me, but your carving.............oh boy! You have some serious talent. If you take my advice, you'd flog your lathes, buy a whole lot of interesting wood with the proceeds (plus a few extra carving tools), and then fill this forum with examples of your carving work. Fantastic stuff!
Thanks Tabs appreciate it. It's on Etsy if you really love it loltabs wrote:Hi and welcome, really love that walking stick!
