Hello from Yorkshire

Postby Doug71 » 13 Dec 2020, 14:11

Hi guys, thought I better get my name on the list while there is still some room!

I have a small one man joinery business, have been doing it for years. I make doors, windows, cabinets etc, anything in wood really. I work mainly on old properties but do make a few trendy birch ply cabinets etc when needed.

I'm looking forwards to picking the brains of the knowledgeable people I know reside here.

Cheers, Doug

Nice to see you!

I did a bit of what you're at.... then I retired properly!
I do miss make/matching old stair spindles and replace/repairing old sawn-off newel posts!
For people doing restorations, you tend not to have a lot of competition.

Hi Doug. There's a pesky little 3 post barrier before you can post normally....keeps the spammers at bay.

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

I will post some photos of stuff I have done, most of it isn't that interesting but I do get some nice jobs. My house is a converted Victorian Gothic school which I did all the work on so will post some pics of that, a few nice Gothic windows etc.

I'm having a good sort out in my workshop which I should get chance to finish over Christmas so will post some pics of that when finished before it gets in a mess again :eusa-doh:

Hi Doug

A warm-welcome from me. Working on older buildings is really satisfying.
