Hello (officially)

Postby Rob » 20 Jan 2015, 22:42

I thought that I ought to introduce myself properly. Though I joined in August, major health problems in my family (8 yr old and wife) have curtailed my woodworking activity to the point of zero. Having got a little bit involved providing some labour to Terry (my neighbour) in his excellent workshop build, I'm starting to get to know the form here....and its nice, friendly and not too stuffy :-)

For those who don't know, I'm a moderator (Random Orbital Bob) on UKW but since its early days here I managed to nab the name Rob which wasn't available on UKW. I know there's some politics between here and there but I don't know the detail and frankly don't want to know. I was asked to moderate on UKW only recently so I'm not part of the longer history, have no interest whatsoever in who did what to whom.

All I can say is I say things how I see them and this community seems a pleasant place to have a chat. I hope my being here isn't causing anyone any grief. If that were the case, I would respectfully withdraw.

Hello officially Rob

The 'history' is very little in all honesty and blown out of reality by…well…as you say, it matters not. There is no official ill will on either side that I know of, just a disagreement between a few people many a long moon ago.

Regardless, plenty of room for both (and the others) and plenty of info to share and be had from all :)

Cheers

Welcome Rob, sincerely...........and don't give any "history" a second thought. We're a small friendly bunch here, unconcerned by UKW or anything which has occurred in the past.

Sorry to hear your family has suffered health problems recently, and thanks for helping Terry build his shed.
