Making dog holes in bench top

Not wishing to hijack Rob's thread I thought I share how I made the dog holes in my bench top:-

I think that it is self explanatory.

How did you make yours?
I do not think therefore I do not am.

If you're asking about my top, the answer is I haven't done it yet because there's no jig available for me yet at AxHQ and I could be waiting for a little while yet. Hopefully not - Rob

I think I was trying to show that with just 3 accurately drilled holes in the piece of MRDF under the Mortiser I can repeat the pattern all over the bench top with a great deal of accuracy, I think. Of course I am not sure if this is equal to the Parfitt level of accuracy.

Andy

I guess it comes down to two things. How accurate you can make the MDF and the extent to which the holes in the template are enlarged between the start and the end of the process. So the obvious question is how did you make the template and ensure accuracy in that?

Terry.

That's roughly how I did mine Andy though I used a router rather than a pillar drill

The way to test the accuracy is to do the 5 cut method as Peter did in his video clip - Rob
