Source of antique brass finish Tonk strip please

Postby 9fingers » 25 Jul 2016, 10:04

I'm looking for a supplier of a small quantity ( 4 x 900mm ish) Tonk strip and fittings in antique brass finish and am getting nowhere fast.

I already have the other fittings purchased for the project so a colour/style change is not practical.

Any info welcomed

TIA

Bob

What exactly do you mean by an antique brass finish, Bob ?
I know you can get bronzed steel Tonk strips...would they be close enough ?

Hafele ?

Thanks for the reply Roger.

Somewhat unhelpfully, ideally they should match other Antique Brass fittings (knobs) that I have already bought.

Lets see if these photos help.

The effect is that usage fine scratches and intentional recesses are blackish "dirty colour" and the other bit look like they have been cleaned a bit but not lately (like my workshop  )

Hafele state that their clips don't match the strips, WTF is that all about??
I'm planning glass shelves and the contrast between clip and strip will be too obvious I fear
and SDS do almost everything but antique brass as far as I can see.

How ever EHS bronze might work. The knobs are on the outside (novel I know!) and the shelves on the inside so will never be close for a visual comparison. As long as I can get inset concealed kitchen cupboard like hinges in a comparable colour.
NB unlike my glass doors, these will have timber fields as the cupboard will be for booze and not that attractive to look at through glass doors.

Thank you for the lead! top man! :text-bravo:
