Celotex Inflammable

Postby Woodster » 27 Nov 2017, 19:48

They were talking about the Grenfell Tower on TV this morning and said the insulation that caught fire was Celotex.

For some reason I assumed modern insulation wasn’t inflammable. It also gives off Cyanide gas when it burns according to the article. :o Dodgy stuff indeed.

In domestic situations it is always buried behind plasterboard, and hence protected from fire.

According to their website (or at least 3 weeks ago it did) they are no longer supplying the 5000 series of boards due to failing a fire test they did not expect it to fail, nor understand why it failed.
