Oak barge boards

Postby the bear » 27 Jan 2018, 23:26

Hello all

Need to buy some oak for barge boards (to be left untreated as per the local vernacular)

Looking for advice where to buy some air dried oak boards 200mm by say 30mm and up to 4 metres long without breaking the bank. Planned would be good as big machines are in storage, but sawn ok if thats whats available as could get the portable thicknesser out to do most of the work.

I live between Dorking and Guildford in Surrey (RH5) so reasonable striking distance of there or could be couriered I guess.

Any ideas folk?

Cheers
