Workshop Planner software

Postby Phil » 16 Mar 2018, 08:14

Here is a nice bit of free software to plan the layout of a workshop.

You specify the room size, then select the equipment and shuffle it around.

Great if your room only has 4 straight sides...unless I'm missing an option to shape the walls.

I've not looked at the program but can you model your L shape with a rectangle and placing a big rectangular machine to leave the L shape?

In the structural menu there is a 'wall' icon which can be used to create an L shape or internal walls for a store.

Ok, so here is Mike G's workshop, not quite to scale.

To get the right shape I blanked out the two corner areas.

Took maybe 30 minutes after reading the Help section
Also finding the right icon. Could not find the RAS.

Nice one Malc.
That should sort Trim out with his layout.

Indeed, I shall be having a play. I have also got it set up in Sketchup so might just stick with that as it gives me the 3D view too.
