On the 18th last, Yandles had a 20% off sale so I trotted down the A303 with a bulging credit card to get some choice (or so I thought) timber, some of which were a few bits of what looked like decent enough elm. They'd planed up the best side, naturally enough, but I failed miserably to examine the underside in the shed.
When I got home I saw that there were 'several' worm holes in the board, which were liberally doused with Rentokill gloop. When I started to skim them this morning on the dirty side, all the boards were riddled with worm and became bandsaw fodder...
...ending up in the wheely bin.
Moral of the story; examine your boards with the utmost care and always take a flashlight, especially to Yandles! I didn't and paid the price - Rob
