19th century power grinder & a wot's this?

Postby Andyp » 23 Oct 2014, 17:53

One for the hand toolers. I've seen lots of people power grinders but none with a drive wheel as big as this at over 3 feet in diameter

No prizes, made of oak and lots of it. Any ideas?

That is going to be quite a high speed grinder.

My tool kit is almost complete, only a few more to get.

Yes Rod there is a handle. Unfortunately the axle supports were very loose so we could not really get it up to full speed.

Anyone know what the other photo is?

Have you a wider view - it just looks like some sort of grill?

No not really as I had to take the photo through some chicken wire. Difficult to see scale I agree.

The only other view I have is this which probably gives it way.
