Well done, that man! May you continue to enlighten us, Peter.

Thank you all very much for your kind words, no plans for driving any sheep over London Bridge in the near future Richard :D
A really great day in the City and very different from my normal workshop scruffs, had to hire a black tie as the last time a tried mine on was 16 years ago, it didn't fit!
The robe was what I was "enclothed" in, becoming a freeman is a tradition that goes back almost 800 years for master craftsmen and one I feel very honoured to be part of.
This is a short video released last week by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers about the current role they play within our industry. I will most likely be involved in the education and training committee but time will tell how they would like me to assist.

I face booked about the days events Sarah and I enjoyed last week and have been amazed by the response the photos have received.

Peter

I am afraid I am new to this woodwork stuff, so I probably don't fully appreciate the magnitude of this. But anything that has been going almost 800 years and requires getting dreesed up in fancy robes sounds like a very big honour. So I'd like to add my congratulations to those of others.

Terry.

At the risk of re-starting a riot, maybe the ceremonial side of this achievement is another "part of being British"
Not in any way trying to denigrate the award!

Congratulations Peter
