If you obey those safety rules completely, you would only ever use your table-saw for ripping and at a stretch cross-cutting. (And maybe panel reducing.) I suppose ripping is all the saw was really designed for, but with care you can cut joints on the TS; for which you must remove the guard of course!

Why bother with using a tablesaw, when it is much quicker and FAR SAFER to use a router than a dado blade in a saw.
