Liking the longer planes i had considered a LN no8 in the future, however QS will be releasing a No8 on the 15th August :)

Mike is absolutely spot on the money…you don't need a No8. I had a Record No8 years ago and got rid of it in swift order. If you have a No7, that will do everything that a No.8 will do…spend the wonga on a wood lathe instead :mrgreen: - Rob

Have you seen our WoodRiver 5 1/2 might be worth a try if you are looking for a quality plane at half the price of the top end offerings.

I'd second that suggestion. I have a Quangsheng low angle and thought it was the bees knees. The WoodRiver are much better.
If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.
