Japanese Saw

The place to talk about tools 'without tails', so come here with all your plane and chisel, burnisher and bradawl chatter.

Japanese Saw

I’ve had this small Japanese saw for many years without mishap but this is what happens when you’re in a rush and put too much pressure the wrong way (push instead of pull!!)

Japanese saws have been featured on another thread but I managed to buy a replacement blade from Axminster for £10.
Much easier to fit than I’d imagined too.

You'll have to tell us how to do it, Rod. I bought a load of replacement blades when I was in Japan a few years back and some saws. Hardly any of which I use TBH. But I could never work out how to change the blade.
If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

You hook the spur then tap against bench to fully embed. Instructions on the LHS of the diagram.
Ones on right for dismantling though I used my vice.
