Hi all, has anyone found a decent foot switch that you can simply plug in e.g with a 13A plug/socket on, but doesn't cost as much as the tool itself?

Hi Rich and welcome to TWH2
I can't help with your query but I'm sure someone can, but if you're planning on sticking around for a bit please do bob over to the Welcome forum and do a bit of an intro for us and let us know what you're into.
All the best
Cheers
Mark

Thanks Mark, I hadn't spotted that. I'll take a look and try and think of something interesting to say!

Hi Rich - welcome
Are you asking about a straight on/off switch or a speed controller type.
For the latter I bought one from the bay and modified it slightly (to make it safer).

Foot switches are cheap enough on ebay eg £3.50 for a 10 amp one* but you will have to add your own plug and socket.
Bob
* I'd probably spend a bit more to be honest but the cheap one might be fine.
