Lidl Wet and Dry Shop Vac back on sale

Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

From 20th July:

I believe a lot of woodworkers have picked these up over previous years and generally rate them quite good value for money.

I am seriously considering getting one. In part it would be an interim measure until I get proper DX sorted, but longer term it may prove useful for use with smaller tools, given the power take-off. Anyone got any direct experience of them?

I've got a wet'n'dry that I bought from Travis Perkins a few years back. Similar capabilities. Being able to suck water out of the freezer when it has been defrosted is ace!

Does the power take-off mean that the vacuum is switched on and off by switching the attached power tool on and off?

According to the discussion 'in another place', yes it does.

I have a similar unit, it has 2 switches, one is power on/off, while the other sets it to start when power is drawn from the socket on board.

Yes, although some devices such as the Mirka CEROS power supply that have a separate power supply from the tool will cause the vacuum to be permanently on because the power supply is always 'on' .
