new blade for my Safety Speed Cut C4 panel saw

Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

new blade for my Safety Speed Cut C4 panel saw

Postby tracerman » 19 Sep 2015, 23:12

I bought a Safety Speed Cut panel saw C4 back in the late Eighties . The blade ( 200mm 64t 5/8" bore) is getting decidedly blunt ( yes It's the original blade as far as memory serves ) . An incredible machine for anybody cutting sheets regularly , but its starting to burn on 18mm MDF .
Anybody know the best place to source a new blade ?

Thanks

Sorted - sourced from Ax - £20.70 incl centre ring , postage and catalogue . Delivery by DPD probably tomorrow . I was expecting to pay at least double that .

I use Sawtec in Eastleigh to sharpen saw blades. Usually a 1 week turn round. They are in the Chickenhall industrial estate, to the east of Eastleigh first right over the bridge towards Bishopstoke.

Bob - thanks for that . To be honest the blade on the C4 was really gone beyond , abused , and incredibly I think it was the original blade from the late eighties . Which may indicate that the machine was dormant for long periods . However , whilst looking this morning to see if in fact I had a spare blade for the C4 , I found a collection of about 5 blades for the DeWalt 1251 in a drawer and a couple could be sharpened .....
