Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

Hello.
Does anyone know the correct way of conecting an idler motor to a static transwave convertor. I have a 5.5 hp wadkin spindle, and at the moment i have to start the machine on setting 7 then once running turn the setting down to 5. Which is a bit of a pia. Thanks Arfon.

Just connect the idler motor to the output of the converter via a DOL starter and a thermal overload matched to the idler motor rating to protect it. Switch on the converter first, start the idler and then start the spindle.

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question do I connect the spindle to the idler motor?

No. The spindle connects to the converter output as normal.
