That is definitely backwards.
I had one of those in the old workshop, I never realised that it had a way of adjusting it for square like that. I made a long fence from some aluminium extrusion with a pivot point and an elongated hole and bolt into the table further down. Set that to the blade, then set the outfeed side fence off that. It was a real pain, but stayed put once.
I have an old Wadkin RAS waiting in the barn to go back into service, I can't believe how much I miss is for processing big lumps (or just read I can't believe I still haven't got it set up).
