Extraction advice

Postby woodstalker » 05 Aug 2016, 21:32

Hello, so i could do with some advice regarding dust/sawdust extraction. In my temporary little workshop i anticipate need to get a mobile vacuum type and to attach it to whichever machine i happen to be using at the time.

Obviously when i build the workshop proper i will invest in a plumbed in more heavy duty system, but until then; can anyone recommend a cost effective shop vacuum type solution for my mini-workshop?

My bandsaw has a 52mm outlet and my SCMS has a 40mm both male if thats any help?

Thanks in advance for any tips/advice/cheap secondhand good :D

I use a cheapo MacAlister? vac from B&Q for that purpose.
The ones from Lidl and Aldi are supposed to be good value too.

If you've got the room you could incorporate a cyclone ( Dust Deputy).

Cheers Rod, i shall explore (its a B&Q Mcallister SCMS so seems appropriate!)

I was just concerned with buying something cheap and it not doing the job required...

It's been going strong for many years and has a power take off too.
