Dust Extraction Festool KS60

Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

Dust Extraction Festool KS60

First attempt using an old Dyson flexi hose.

Unfortunately the the restricted size of the flexi tube caused the pressure valve on the cyclone to release.

Second attempt also using flexi hose but attached to the Numatic

There is probably room to have the hose come out of the shelf rather than the back of the cabinet. Will have to think about that.

I must say, Andy, your Kapex is much quieter than mine! :D

That looks quite a nice setup.

I've not tried too hard with mine yet to find an elegant solution.

I've used Peter Millard's trick of wrapping cycle inner tube round the insert and stuffing it into the extraction port, held by friction. The pipe then goes via an elbow and up over joist and back down to the Aldi vac.

Does the job but not as elegant as yours.

Malc,
Sorry not enough hands to cut and film at the same time. :)

If you can get hold of of some that Dyson Flexi hose it is ideal. It is from the the Dyson upright and the wire spiral means it can be stretched and fitted over varying size diameter fittings. No glue, no tape.

My cabinet not as elegant as yours though.

I'll look into the Dyson hose.

The Aldi comes with a hose that these multiple kits fit, and I was fortunate to get a Myrka hose and fitments going cheap at Yandles show last month. It's thinner than the Aldi, so at the moment I've got two sizes covered, and 100mm on the iTech. (I also got a Myrka hand sander with DE port and loads of 240 grit sheets cheap, too!)
