Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

Can anybody suggest where I can buy bandsaw blades for my Kity ( 90 1/2" ) ( or 2300mm ) in Southampton over the counter ? Its years since I bought any and I would prefer over the counter rather than mail order . Any suggestions appreciated .

I get mine from Ian at Tuffsaws - really excellent service.

Nearest other place I know of is Axminster at Basingstoke?

Thanks guys - I had a look at Tuffsaws site , looks very good .

I don't remember where I bought my last lot of blades , the same 3/8" blade has been in the Kity for , oh , at least 5 years , and has been abused , cutting softwood , plastic , Perspex , acrylic , and it only showed signs of drifting to one side today , therefore I am out of touch on suppliers.

I am going to post another question about bandsaw blades separately as it think it should be another thread .

Thanks
Steve

You can get them from Screwfix, but they are not the best blades you can buy.
Cheers !

Another Tuffsaws user here :)

Don't worry about service compared to over the counter - it will be better at Tuffsaws.

You can get a wide variety of blades and made to the exact size you want. My machine is on its adjustment limits when tensioning the specified blade length so I order blades 10mm shorter for a perfect fit. You can just say what you want to cut and Ian will tell you what style blade you need.

I've not bought any for ages now as the M42 blade I bought last time just keeps going.

Just looked and Tuffsaws has a new website and mention of a new larger premises. Good to see they are doing well.

Try an Axminster Diamond Ground blade…fantastic performance and I used to use Tuff saw blades as well. The Ax is as good - Rob

Just to let you know , I have ordered a couple of blades from Tuffsaws today , mentioned that his virtues are being extolled on here , he hadn't realised the woodhaven has been revived .

Thanks

Steve, thanks for telling Ian that Woodhaven2 had been set up. As we did not have contact details for all the members on the old site site it was impossible to let everyone know WH2 had been created.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers
