Another on the go a vase

Postby Dalboy » 22 Jul 2019, 20:54

While I am working on the pierced bowl and doing the painting rather than just sitting and watching it do so i thought I would start another project.

This is a vase the top and bottom are not yet glued together as different woods can move at different rates even through the process of just turning them. I have left these for a couple of days and should glue and decorate tomorrow.

Now while waiting for this one should I start another

I used Pva for the joint but have left the two parts for nearly a week to settle from turning.

Anyway managed to get it completed today after decorating the base. It stands 9" tall.

Very interesting finish on the base portion - how did you achieve this? Looks absolutely stunning against the darker grain!
