Vase with a twist

Not done much turning as making wooden models Now they are finished I can get back to turning a little more.

This was just a case of having a play with a new tool for hollowing and at the same time I thought I would add some very subtle twists to the piece. Made with Yew and stands 6" and 3 1/2" at the widest.

C and C welcome

I love yew, has to be my favourite.

HAs that been turned lengthwise? Ie with the grain running from top to bottom.

I have some large lumps of yew seasoning in the garage and I am hoping they will not split so I can turn forms like that.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Thank you Malcolm and Andy.

Yes Andy turned along the grain. This has some minor cracks in it most of the Yew I have when turned develops cracks and not the sort from over heating when sanding
