Willow Bowl - Movement

The place to find and post anything related to the world of spinning wood at ridiculously high speeds!

I've drawn around the rim and set a reminder to do the same in a month and I'll take another picture with the ruler across the top. We will see....
I do not think therefore I do not am.

That's in fact a really good idea. Wouldn't that be an interesting study for turners

This is the problem when turning from wet or not seasoned wood. They can sometimes end up with some interesting shapes. I am enjoying the progress of this bowl to see how much more it will warp/move

Yeah, but I haven't really got the equipment and more importantly the patience, to leave a camera up and running for 6 months! :D

I've set reminders to take a picture every month and we will see what happens.

No I wasn't thinking you would do it Andy but I think the ideas a cracker and some photographic type might like to pick it up. It would really encapsulate the challenge with green wood in a visually striking way

One month and here it is again.

And one month ago

I did draw around the bowl a month ago but there is not enough change in the circularity to show in a photo.
Forgot to place a ruler on the base but it does sit without wobbling.
