Rescued hollow form

Postby Dalboy » 28 Aug 2015, 17:43

After my colouring failure and the colours not being able to be rescued I thought that I would complete the hollow form cut some dimples and stain it black with gold to highlight the dimples.

Here is the failed colour attempt.

Anyway C & C welcome on the hopefully successful rescue

Do you have any images before the colouring. Can't help think I would prefer to see this sort of thing in the nude so to speak.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Lovely Derek. Did you use a dremel for the dimples?

I also didn't think the colour was that bad....what was it you felt categorised it as a failure? I'm thinking if you'd put a layer of laquer to give some sheen it wouldn't have been bad?

Thank you guys.

The colour of the top one was not even and did not take very well also the dark patches where meant to be red. Some thing else that you can't see is that the colours did not blend very well instead of gradual change there was a solid divide between them.

I will be trying again at some point.

The only way to get the colours covered because they had penetrated to deep was to go for a dark colour like black but that was after I used the multi tool to do all the dimples even on a small form like this it took over an hour to do, I left the collar smooth to give a contrast.
