Last Turning of 2015

Well after making all the presents I managed one last bowl of 2015. Made from Yew not that you need to be told. Finished with sander sealer and canuba wax on the buffing system. Measures 7 1/2" X 1 1/2". The pictures does not really show the deep shine on this one

C & C welcome

Derek, good looking bowl.

Nice blank full of character.
Like the chunky look.

What sort of sealer do you use?

Cheers

I do like it when a hole is left in the piece like that. I'd be worried about catching a tool in it though.

Can you share some details of your buffing system? Is this something you do on or off the lathe?
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Cellulose sander sealer applied while still on the lathe once that had dried I then buffed once it was completed

Because of the lathe speed the tool does not get the chance to go into the whole. When you do have a go take it gentle at first. After a while you get to know how bigger cut you can take it comes with practice.

Lovely figuring, but I think you've missed the fundamental flaw...

I'm sure it will become evident when you serve your soup... :P
