Quite different techniques, tools and wearing gloves!
The wooden tool rest isn't fixed too.

His bandsaw is similar to a Stenner, I've seen a couple like that but with much larger sliding tables.
His lathes appear to be engineering lathes & whilst his hand tools are not like western ones he uses them with the handle high up so minimising the effects of a catch
