Todays offerings

Postby Dalboy » 05 Jun 2017, 18:33

Had a good day and managed to get some bits turned 10 bird houses from all of the off cuts I seem to gather and a clock from a scrape piece of walnut which I thought was no good and nearly ended in the bin.
The bird houses are great little sellers and don't take long to produce when you make them in a batch. And the clock was just to use up some of the clock mechanisms I still have left.

They are very nice, I have turned a few bird houses, but I think your ones are smarter than mine.

My tool kit is almost complete, only a few more to get.

Intersting bird houses - what size are they and how does the painted roof stand up to outside conditions? I can imagine they would indeed sell well :eusa-clap:

I am guessing that the bird boxes are only about 3-4" tall and are decorative only. Very nice though.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

Not really design for out doors

Yes Andy they are for decoration only.

Not a bad guess they are between 3 3/4" and 5" but because they are hollow are suitable for some Christmas trees and is what people buy them for.

They are great to make and use up all of the odd small pieces of wood I seem to collect around the workshop.

Very nice Derek, like the bird houses.

Would you not like to do a how-to on turning them? A good vid! 8-)
