What to do on a sunny Bank Holiday Weekend

Well you could go to the beach, have mates round for a BBQ, visit the mother in law, take the Mrs away for a spontaneous break or shut yourself in the workshop and even get on with some woodwork.

However the Forum Admin Mark and the gang of Moderators have a different idea.

We are going to launch the all new singing and dancing Forum Photo Hosting facility - bigger and better than we have had before! Well that last bit is easy cos we did not have one

In the course of the weekend the results of all Mark's hard work fighting the forum code and the efforts of the mods in trying to break what he has created will be released.

It has been a nearly 24 hr a day operation. Mark usually starts in the evening - some sort of excuse about having a day job and a workshop to build and is often still at it around 2am. Then Roger wakes up at ungodly hours like 5am and chips in before going to rebuild his swamp house. 7 am Andy comes online (well 8am French time) and makes some valid point or other that we have not though of. Robert can pop in at almost any time having been experimenting with code in leaps and bounds and coming up with the most ridiculously shaped photos with obscene number of pixels to break Mark's work from the previous night.
Me? Well I login over a morning cuppa almost dreading what messages are waiting in Private Parts (our mods area on the forum), chip in a few WIBNIs (wouldn't it be nice if...) and we all try and curb Mark's enthusiasm for perfection by shouting in unison "FFS Mark! Stop polishing it, we need to launch something"

Anyway less rabbiting on from me, I've got a user guide to re-write after everyone tearing it to shreds last night and the Boss has set a review deadline of midday today.

We hope the changes will be fairly seamless and will work smoothly. If you spot a problem then let one of us know but please don't shout too loudly.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday and maybe have a thought of us slaving away over hot keyboards.

Thanks, Gents.

It is really appreciated by us mortals, especially those of us using dodgey hosting sites.

You are a bunch of gents!

Thanks Malc.

The new system is in fact live for a few hours now. There is an inexplicable difference between its behaviour on the test site to this one which is pretty cosmetic but still is annoying Mark and he is investigating but that does not stop it working.

I'm going to publish the first issue of the guide for use in a minute so people can start having a play with it.

Thank you all for the time put into this, at least as a forum will not be held hostage by some of the photo hosting sites.

Again well done to all involved

Now it is all sorted, we can say it was our pleasure to sort it out. That might not have been Mark's response part way through though.
