Coloured burr

Postby Dalboy » 14 Sep 2017, 22:31

After my last burr I did want colour to be added as well as a bit of banter from Ed I added colour to this one. I just experimented and to be honest I am not sure on it but the wife likes it so I will keep it.
Just for interest it is 7" X 2 1/14" sprayed with spirit stain and finished with Hard wax oil. It is a chestnut Burr
C & C welcome

Not my favourite of your pieces mate. I like the wood but the colouring does nothing for me.

Sorry Derek, I have to agree with Mark. The colour doesn't seem to add anything
I do not think therefore I do not am.

Thank you both. I have had quite a bit of a mixed response to this piece. After all this was an experiment

the colour is not for me .. but it's great that you are experimenting !
The more things you do away from the norm, the more chances you get for that extra special piece !

Maybe one day I will turn an extra special piece. At one time I would never have dreamed of adding colour or texturing anything to a piece.
When I do experiment I just enjoy the process the main problem is I sometimes forget how I did a piece so no two piece end up with the same pattern on it
