It's only a tea light holder but even so I am mightily p-off. I had it on the jaws holding the inside in order to finish the bottom and turned the key the wrong way when I took it off. :(

My daughter is off to India next weekend and she asked me to make something simple for the Diwali celebrations. I though a candle holder would be apt. I'll have to make another now.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

It only takes a moments lack of concentration and bang goes another pot. At least it is only a small item and not a piece you have spent ages on, not as that matters it is the kick yourself moment when you realise what you have done

Nice idea Mark but this morning an even larger split/crack has opened up on the opposite side.

Kindling I'm afraid.

Nah, a hose clamp will soon fix that.

Sorry about the disaster Andy - India is a fantastic place to visit - is it a school trip?

Yes Rod, a cultural exchange. To Delhi and a visit to the Taj Mahal. Lucky devils.

I did think of asking. :)
If it had happened on some of the stash of beech, ash and oak I have I would not have minded so much. But that yew is just so gorgeous and I have such little of it.

That stuff was just scavenged from bloke that was burning a whole tree as he couldn't find a way of disposing of it. I'm sure that if you keep the Mk1 eyeball open, there's plenty of the stuff in la belle France - Rob

Taj Mahal - beautiful and as good in the flesh as shown in photos etc but the only place we had any trouble as my wife’s camera was stolen there.
We were taken very early from our hotel (in the morning to miss the crowds) in a golf buggy with an armed guard sitting on the back which was a bit off putting. During the visit her bag was picked!
The only other place we saw guards like that was in the jewellery quarter in Kolkata where there was armed guards standing outside each shop!

They are doing the Taj on a very long day trip from Delhi. So no chance of missing the crowds I reckon.
I can't make up my mind if a school party is more or less vulnerable to petty theft.
