Soldiers on Parade

Postby Dalboy » 14 Nov 2017, 11:17

I seemed to have gone through a period of having lost interest in going out into the shed as you know from a previous post. So to kick start myself I went and turned a pen then got on and finished the Nut Cracker soldier that I had started now I can't get enough shed time and have another two turning projects on the go.
Anyway on to the completed soldiers.
Not my design but Colwin Way's published in the Woodturner magazine. I did change what they are holding. The family wanted something like this so I made extras which have now been snapped up already.

C & C welcome

These are for decoration but there is a lever in the back which opens the mouth and the nut goes in there and when psuhed down into the body will crack the nut. These are 13 1/2" tall they will be able to take smaller nuts if the new owners wanted.
You can see the lever in the mouth opening in this photo it goes through and sits in a slot up the back of the soldier
