Spalted bowl

Postby Dalboy » 24 Apr 2018, 18:58

I took a rough turned spalted bowl to the show I attended to demonstrate turning to the general public. Well all did not go well with it as it pulled out fibres like mad. So on return, I soaked it with thinned sander sealer and left it overnight then attacked it for the second time if you don't count the rough turning. And this is the end result. It turned a dream after the overnight soak

Sorry, Malcolm missed your post.

Anyway thank you both I do like spalted pieces as they are the ones that seem to go faster than any other stuff

Nice. Plain and simple, which is often the best way with nicely grained woods.
