The place to find and post anything related to the world of spinning wood at ridiculously high speeds!

Can I say that?
I’ve not had the chance to do any wood turning for a while but decided I would turn a bowl today. I selected two likely blanks from my pile yesterday and put them to one side. On closer inspection today the Beech blank has hairline cracks in both sides so I rejected that and started turning a Sycamore blank that has turned out (pun intended) to have worm holes in it! I’ve just emailed one of my WT clubs committee members who has stocks of wood, hopefully he’s got something suitable for me.

Well that's not good. I'm up to my armpits in bowl blanks if you need something quickly.

Thanks mate but no desperate rush, just want to get some without faults. I’m guessing the hot weather in the shed may have caused the Beech blank to crack. Not sure where else to put them really but they are in the way in the shed.
Where do folks store their blanks?

In a plastic compost bin sited in a shady north facing corner of the garden.
