Hollow form

Postby Dalboy » 26 Feb 2019, 18:34

Not done a hollow form for quite a while so thought about time I did another. Made from field maple for the main body, American black walnut for the top and beech for the finial. Was going to colour the finial but liked it the way it looked contrasting against the lid.
The bottom has a little ripple going on.

Size is 7 1/4" dia and 6 3/4" tall

Thank you all.

I want to experiment with other shaped finials as most forms that have them seem to go with the traditional turned type that is the reason for this one

Very nice Derek I always think of Mark Sanger when I see finials like that I’m sure he’d approve :eusa-clap:

Mark has already seen and commented on this one and does approve of it. I did design this not to look like others but like most things in woodturning quite often they turn out similar to others work.
