Rippled Ash apple

The Mother in Law requested I turn an apple, she intends to give to her blind friend as she thought it would make a nice tactile gift. So like the dutiful son in law I am :? Here it is

Turned from rippled Ash

With Rosewood calyx & stem

It was initially finish on the lathe with a wipe of Yorkshire grit

Very nice mate.

Hope this doesn’t sound off, it’s not meant to, but seems a shame the recipient won’t be able to see the lovely figure in that wood!

I know what you mean Mark but his wife will see it so I thought I best do it in something nicer than a bit of pine :D

Core that is a great apple Doug and I am sure it will be well received and appreciated at least you had time for a quick lie down before doing this (all in the aid of testing of course :lol: ).
