This was turned from a log that had been dying for about 18 months.

Andy, does that have the pith inside it, or did you split it and remove it?

:oops: Yes I am afraid so. The logs were quite small only about 4" in diameter, ends were sealed and bark left on and there was not a crack in sight when I started. I have 6 or 8 more like that if I cannot get away with leaving the pith that I do wonder what I can do with them.

Candle stick looks good shame about it splitting. Maybe make some goblets but just off centre so that the pith does not run down the stem. Or you could do THIS, not my work by the way again make it quite thin which will allow it to move rather than split. This can't be guaranteed but does reduce the chances.
