Closed end pen

Done for a friendly competition. This is my latest pen not having turned one for about 18months. The kit is a Junior gentleman,s pen but with a closed end. The blank is a polyester one I had in the draw.

I like that, I have turned a few pens, but never a kit with a closed end. Do you have any pictures of the setup?
Regards,
Dave
My tool kit is almost complete, only a few more to get.

Thanks Dalboy. Yet another thing I would to try.

I think the closed end looks really cool.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Sorry no photo's but when I go out to the shed will try and take some.

All I did was to make a mandrel to fit the tube out of wood, it needs to be a good fit but note too tight otherwise you will not get the piece off.

Once the closed end piece is on bring up the tail stock to hold it and turn the majority and finish.

Lastly part off as cleanly as possible then gently hold the blank on the mandrel with your hand and sand and finish as for the rest of the pen.
