Boxes

This is where we don't want anything but evidence of your finest wood butchering in all its glorious, and photograph laden glory. Bring your finished products or WIP's, we love them all, so long as there's pictures, and plenty of 'em!

Sorry I’ve mislead you by the words “type”, by that I meant the original designer of this type of boxes.
I’m sure Rob has his book, he has the same forename.

I’m planning to do some inlay on the lids so made up some jigs to hopefully speed up the process.

I’ve got a Bosch router which is smaller than my DW625’s but had trouble setting up the Trend Unibase centrally. The setting up kit provided is a bit flaky and I ended up doing it by eye and some test cuts.

In your last photo Rod I'd have been inclined to use wood pads between the wedge (and cam) and my workpiece to prevent them digging in.

Thanks Roger, I do use some slivers of wood in between, that was only a mock-up in fact the Wood was in the wrong place in the photo.
I’m still upset that the Trend base is carp.
Getting the Bush central to the cutter is extremely important and in fact is critical.
I see that Silverline have a brass set but I’ve not got a lot of faith in their products.

Anybody know of a quality set?

Rod,
Do you have one of the bush centralising tools? A 45 degree cone on a 1/4" shaft.
It makes setting up a doddle.
You could borrow mine if you like?

Thanks Bob I might take you up on that but I’ll check if some of my stuff will do that job.
The Trend Unibase comes with a centring attachment but it’s made from plastic and absolutely useless.

+1. Just like their kitchen worktop jig. Still waiting for my replacement since July 2nd. Trend Customer (non-)service must come from the same place as Nest's non-existent, pitifully, abysmally poor, egregious and appalling non-service.

Yes but I have a lot to do, so the templates makes the process quicker.
I will have to finish them off by hand, joining them up and squaring the ends and corners.
