Keep this one to yourselves.

This is where we don't want anything but evidence of your finest wood butchering in all its glorious, and photograph laden glory. Bring your finished products or WIP's, we love them all, so long as there's pictures, and plenty of 'em!

So do you have some sacrificial features to edit out or do you expect the application to won on appeal as it stands?

In completely different circumstances, I used to leave things in documents for people to object to then they felt they had done their critique adequately and the parts I really wanted in usually got through.

Works well with Auditors too

The other technique was to leave a fiver towards the end of a thick draft document. Quite often it was never found!

Not as a bribe, simply to see if the reviewer read that far.

I'm pretty sure (I'd have to check) that you can only appeal with what you had in your planning application. The logic being that you are appealing against a decision against a particular scheme, so it would be perverse to say "I appeal against the decision against building A and here is building B that I'd like instead".

Certainly with Planners, rather than the appeals inspector, I often leave something extra in there deliberately to give up in negotiation. Want 2 rooflights? Put 3 on the drawing.

I do so hope that this goes beyond the drawing board as I would dearly love to see how something of that shape goes together and how it works on the inside from a practical perspective.
It is jaw droppingly beautiful, both the design and those images.

Good luck.

Oh and what happened to the top?

Thanks Andy.

The top ceased to have a practical function some while back once it became clear we couldn't have it as a viewing gallery. In the end, we were just sticking something up there for the sake of it, and nothing was working. So, I got rid of it, and we now have a 3.7m square glass "occular" in the middle of the master bedroom suite. It will be pretty spectacular from the inside......leaving us just a little question of how we are going to provide access to clean it!!

The images are fantastic, aren't they. I can't believe we can have a near photographic quality image of a building which is nothing more than a figment of my imagination at the moment. We have even put the building into photos of the site, to show how it will look in the landscape. They're too big for posting here, but give a great idea of what the impact of this building will be.

I like this version.

I think with all those curves there may be an opening for someone to make some curved furniture.

It's not the image or size which is the problem, it is the fact that the house is a tiny dot in the middle of a big field, and therefore won't show up at all here at 800 pixels wide. I'll give it a try and you can see the issue for yourself.

that's cos you use imgur ;) If you uploaded it to Photobucket and inserted the image here we could select the image on the post which would take us to the original on Photobucket.

the images you posted though are just fine.

+1 and they show quite how unobtrusive the proposal will be on the surrounding countryside.

No, it's going through the appeal process at the moment. Thank goodness, as I've no time at the moment to be doing working drawings for anything as complicated as this!!
