You buy a hose and an adapter that plugs into your vacuum cleaner. Sucks up all the dust as you sand, saves the abranet clogging up and the dust scoring into your workpiece. Brilliant bit of kit.

With the panel face down resting on the spikes I paint the back but not the edges. when the back is done turn the panel over so the painted (back) side is on the spikes. now spray the front face and the edges. I then pick up the panel by the triangular plywood and move it somewhere to dry. gets the whole door done in one go and almost no risk of runs such as you would have hanging the panel vertically. The dots from the screw points on the back are almost invisible.
I'd suggest you hand paint the bare mdf with a mdf primer and sand it back if you haven't already.
