Alcove Shelving

Hi All,
I thought I'd post this up as Jon (Norty Raskel) is looking for some advice on his alcoves, so if you stumble across this Jon, hope it helps.
My clients are looking to form some shelving in their alcoves and make it sort of integral to the fire surround - very straight forward job.
Here are the alcoves and the fire surround which I'm yet to install.
The idea here is to make two separate cases using 18mm MDF and 18mm finished thickness softwood timber (25x200 PAR) - to be painted by the clients. Instead of fitting the shelves to the alcove walls, I've gone with this idea because I think it looks neater and a plinth will be formed with a skirting running into the fire surround plinths.
I've made these cases with an overall 40mm tolerance across the widths and 20mm tolerance on the height - both alcoves are out-of-plumb and the heads are slightly out-of-level.
Here are the cases made in the shop and ready to go. They're both roughly 1100 wide, 2100 high and 580 deep.
Shelves are timber Jon I would have gone for thicker, but clients didn't want to.
I shall slide these into the alcoves, set them up and screw fix them to the walls and trim up afterwards, plus a skirting board running across the plinths into the fire surround.
Hope that makes sense.
Report back soon.
