Some wooden containers

This is where we don't want anything but evidence of your finest wood butchering in all its glorious, and photograph laden glory. Bring your finished products or WIP's, we love them all, so long as there's pictures, and plenty of 'em!

Some wooden containers

These are my 'boxes'. They were some of the first things that I ever made and much was done on the Woodrat.

First up is a container for our knives and forks..looking a little weatherbeaten after all those years. Funny how the camera picks up the defects !

And it's smaller brother for spoons

You'll notice that my designs tend towards the use of as thin a piece of wood as I can get away with. The woods look different colours due to the flash going off on one of them.

And our cutlery tray for the silver plate. Box joints made on the Woodrat. Again, note the thin sides.

Unfortunately the top has warped over the years. I think this could be down to either the tension in all that figured wood deciding to do its thing or the fact that I didn't realise at the time that you had to maintain equal treatment of both sides. I never sealed or finished the underside. Probably a bit of both I reckon.

Nice tapered mitres - I like thin sides.

I do not think therefore I do not am.
